Adorli Asks Andreea of Greenbeautycollage
When it comes to green beauty, Andreea, also known as Greenbeautycollage, loves to share her insights and adventures with everything from skincare to cosmetics. We interviewed the content creator and makeup artist to find out more!
- What made you interested in going green when it came to beauty?
My maternal instinct kicked in strongly when I was pregnant with my first child. I was then looking for a good body lotion to use on my pregnant belly. Instinctively I looked for a product with more natural ingredients as I wanted to protect my child of any toxic ingredients. That was the first time I looked at an ingredient list and started to research each ingredient extensively. It slowly became my passion and my professional path.
- How has your beauty routine evolved with changes to more eco-friendly beauty?
I noticed a shift to a more minimalistic beauty routine. I am now more focused on quality than quantity. I also try to only use products in plastic-free packaging and locally sourced (whenever possible).
- What’s your favourite thing about sharing your beauty journey and finds?
Helping women make informed decisions when it comes to their beauty routine is definitely my greatest passion.
- What advice would you give someone trying to go transition into beauty products that are more natural, cruelty-free, vegan and kind?
First of all, to shift their attention to quality rather than quantity and to prefer smaller local brands. Secondly, to start eliminating some of the most toxic ingredients. Things like parabens, SLS and synthetic fragrance/perfume is a great way to start. And third, to replace chemical sunscreen with mineral sunscreen (preferably Zinc oxide based).
- What’s your favourite part of your beauty regimen, and why?
Probably my evening oil cleansing. Mostly because it is a relaxing ritual and also because I find it the most efficient way of cleansing and nourishing my skin. It works for every skin type as long as you choose the right oil for you and you do it correctly. I have oily skin and use either Organic Jojoba Oil or Organic Squalane oil. Both oils are non-comedogenic and lightweight (so perfect for cleansing)
- What’s your ultimate beauty tip?
It has to be multi-tasking. I am obsessed with Lip & Cheek Tints and Cream Foundations (that I can use as concealers as well). This way I save time, money, space and it is low-waste (so great for our planet).
- What does ‘kind beauty’ mean to you?
It means non-harmful to our health, to animals and our planet. And as an extra, made with love.
